What are some good things that will make me stand out at football tryouts?
I play defensive tackle.I haven’t played in a few years and i know my highschool is ranked in the top 5 in my state they got a kid being scouted by boston college he’s a running back.so i know it’s not going to be easy but all i want to do is play football even if i get a spot on junior varsity.what are some things you think i should do on the field that would make the coaches pick me over some other dt i usaly play nose tackle too and the teams center is likc 300 lbs me i weigh 230 i’m 6’0 i’m going to try to pack on some muscle this summer doing like,curls,bench press,shoulder press,sit ups,pushups, and doing the stationairy bike 30 min.what do you think i should do to increase my performance someone told me to gain weight screw that the only way i am gaining anything is if it’s muscle because i am going to the army next year and they wont take me if i am overweight(which i am slightly now)

The thing you should do to stand out at football tryouts is probably just try your hardest and never stop. Do everything the coaches tell you to do and don’t talk back. I play soccer and my coaches usually cut people with bad attitudes and who don’t give it everything they’ve got. And it wouldn’t hurt to start practicing and maybe running and doing pushups at home more to make you stronger. (and help you lose weight) Good luck =)
