How do I avoid creating shiny patches when ironing black clothes?
When I iron black Ts or pants with a bit of stretch in them I often end up with shiny patches. The label usually says ‘cool iron’ but I find that if the iron is that low it doesn’t actually get rid of creases – then when I turn it up I get the shiny patches. Any suggestions?
This is a common issue. I just place a thin cloth (like an old scarf or even a pillow case) over the black clothes to avoid placing the iron directly on the fabric. That way, I can iron at a decent heat setting and even use a little steam if necessary – and no weird shiny patches. It works like a charm every time!
