How to teach a football lineman to get low?
I have a teammate on my high school football team who players center and defensive tackle. He’s big and tall, but he can’t bend his knees and or get low at all, which’s important for both those positions. The season starts in two weeks. What exercises could he to do to be ready for the season
squats could help if he just needs help getting low. It’ll just let the motion start to feel familiar. You might try rolling balls on the ground toward him and making him drop down and pick it up with his arms. Of course that’ll only help with getting low, getting low and then blocking a defensive tackle is another step.
