How can I get really good in football ( soccer )?
Me and my friend both love football, or soccer very much. How can we train to get much better ?
You must practice, practice, practice. Most kid’s, assuming you’re american, see the Brazilians, Argentineans, Spaniards, or Portuguese and think that they just naturally get that way. While it is true that they come from bigger cultures of dance, an American could get just as talanted as them, difference is players from theses cultures that practice almost everyday (Not just when with a team, but individually).
1) Coming from my point of view as a former player in a Semi-Professional league, the best stuff to work is FIRST TOUCH on the ball, which is controlling it/killing it dead when your receive a pass from a teammate, with various parts of your body: feet, thighs, chest, and head. This can be done by getting together with a teammate(Or a brick/cement wall) and passing the ball back and forth with your feet powerfully and tapping it with your feet, and with your hands to the other parts of the body. If you have to do this with a wall, bounce it off the wall with your feet and hand to the various parts of your body. Practice touch with both feet and thighs.
2) Dribbling and control are the arguably next most important thing. Taking on players with moves while dribbling up the sideline, up the center of the midfield, or a forward running at the last line of defense. Learn to use the inside, outside and laces of the boot(cleat) for dribbling techniques, and rolling the ball on the top with the studs of your boots. Also work on shielding the ball that is keeping it out of reach of the defender with your body or shoulder, as that frequently comes into play. Work on dribbling techniques with both feet as both feet will always come into play during a game and you don’t want to have a weaker foot.
3) Passing is the third most important thing, but can only really be worked on with other people, and comes much easier after you’ve worked on the first to things I talked about. Get two other football friends together and get in a triangle passing the ball to one another in no particular pattern or order. Practice long balls and short balls in this triangle, as if you watch a game of Professional football, played right, is essentially a game of triangles of various sizes. Concept, one person has the ball, AT LEAST two other people have to get into an open position to aid that player and recive the ball. Practice passes with both feet.
Working on these 3 basic things alot, ever day if possible, for a couple of hours, it will make a world of differance in your game. Practiceing with both feet is a pain in the ass, I know, but at in the end will make all the difference during a game. In football, as in any talent a person develops in life, the harder and more you work at it, the better you get. You get what you put in.
