Which of these players from the NFL’s early days would be most likely to excel today?

I should have asked why your choice would be the most successful of those in today’s NFL. As for Lenny Moore, he was a sensational player, but I’m talking about guys from the NFL’s caveman days. Guys who played on both offense and defense because they had no choice. Moore might have been a superb defensive back, but by the time he arrived in the mid-Fifties, players had begun playing on only one side of the ball. Chuck Bednarik was pretty much the only one left going both ways by then. This is just to clarify my question, not to downplay Moore’s talent: In today’s game, given weight training, he’d probably be less skinny and more powerful, and he’d be another Marshall Faulk, who was unbelievable before injuries cut him down.
Sammy Baugh – You have to consider the fact that QBs that actually threw the ball had a significantly more difficult time back then – the ball was rounder (more like a rugby ball), DBs were allowed to maul WRs at the line, etc, etc. The game is much more QB/offense friendly now, and I think you have to assume Sammy would only benefit.
