What could be affected if one tire is a slightly larger size than the other 3?
About two weeks ago, I bought 2 new tires at Wal-mart and had them install the tires on the front. It turns out the passenger side tire is one size larger than the rest of the tires! I am taking it back today to fix the problem, but I was wondering what are some possible problems that could have arisen if this had gone unnoticed (transmission, axles, etc). Thanks.
Assuming you have a front wheel drive. The different tire sizes will effect handling, how much depends on how different they are. It will make your differential work harder and can wear it out, although I doubt that two weeks will be long enough to damage anything.
Most likely the only damage will be to the Wal- Mart service managers pride.
