The SF Giants have “47″ on their left sleeve. Is it in memory of one of their teammates?
It’s in memory of Rod Beck, one of their more dominant closers in team history. He was an awesome, laid back guy who could scare a military man while on the mound. He had an awesome career and will be sorely missed. He even had fans visit him in his trailer when he was living in it in the parking lot of the stadium of the minor league team he played for in between MLB teams in the early 2000′s. Good guy, with some sad problems.
