steering wheel shakes at mid speed?
97 geo tracker, my steering wheel shakes pretty violently at 40-45mph. any lower than 40 and i dont notice it, once i pass 45mph, it goes away. what could cause it at this specific speed?
this problem started occurring after a rough ride on local trails. please no bs, im not surprised that something would be broken, but i want to find out what it is so i can fix it
A mis aligned car will pull to one side, but it should make the car shake. Your problem could be caused by a broken belt in the tire, a front wheel out of balance, bad ball joint, bad Pitman arm bushing, something of this nature. I would have the tires balanced and rotated first and if that doesn’t solve the problem, have the front suspension checked out. In fact, you can have whoever balances the tires check out the suspension at the same time.
