What is the difference between a team color jersey and a regular jersey?
I bought a Minnesota Vikings jersey online. As you know they are purple, gold and white. But my jersey is a more blueish purple. When i looked on NFLSHOP.com there were jerseys like that that are called team color jerseys; Just wondering why it’s a different color.

Some teams allow manufacturers to use different colors for their merchandise than the “true or classic” team colors. This opens the market for people who like some variety or something different.
Like I have a plaid Phillies cap.
Some retailers, on the other hand, can sell their stuff cheaper if they buy, “unofficial” team merchandise, and this stuff may not use actual official team colors, just something approximate.
If what you bought was cheaper than the stuff labeled “team color” then it was probably the latter.
Also, the teams shades of colors can change over time, also to re-energize the mechandising market. A few years ago the Eagles changed from kelly green to dark forest green, e.g.
