As an Adult in the USA why is it illegal for me to purchase a euthanasia kit from a pharmacy?

The US is a pretty free place, certainly relative to a lot of places in the world, but it’s not as free as it should be. In my world, you could kill yourself or anyone who asked you to kill them. There are lots of freedoms denied to Americans, freedoms we don’t even realize that we should have.
