How would you feel if your 14 month old clung to another woman’s leg when scared?
Here is the scenario. Mom, 14 month old, and 4 year old were at the YMCA for the 4 year old’s swimming class. 14 month old walks slower than mom and got behind about 15 feet. An elderly man came out of the locker room, so the 14 month old clung onto a strange woman’s leg and burried his head in her leg to avoid seeing the elderly man who was approaching. Mom was only 15-20 feet away at most, within eyesight of the baby.
If this was your baby, would it break your heart he clung to a random woman he’s never seen before for comfort? She was a mom, but not HIS mom. Or would you just accept that he was scared and found her comforting?
I was the strange woman in this scenario. I was just thinking how sad I would be if my daughter clung to another woman’s leg when I was right there… 
I think the baby hugged your leg because you were the closest and the baby felt your motherly comfort that should be a very warm feeling to you and yes it is very sad oooohhhhhh
