Are youth snowboards ok for shorter people?
Hi, I started snowboarding and I absolutely loved it! I am only 5’0 and therefore the ideal board for me would be around 135cm (youth). However, when I look at the ideal weight for the 135cm boards, I am WAY OVER! The smallest boards for women are too big for me. Is it still ok to use a youth board regardless of the weight recommendations?
Weight is more important than height, and the youth board won’t be nearly stiff enough for you. If your an adult, or even a teen, your going to be far too strong for a youth board and it’s going to feel sluggish and slow. Look for a board that fits your weight. I guarantee that there are women’s boards that will fit you. The “board comes to your chin” axiom is untrue.
