Difference between youth .243 and adult .243?
I’m going to be using an adult model S&W rifle this season, but was using a youth Savage. I have compared the length, and there is no really significant differance. The S&W is heavier though, since it has a wood stock and not composite. Am I missing something, or do we have two youth rifles (guy we bought it from said it was an adult [which we got before the youth])? They both fit my shoulder, it’s just that the adult was too heavy when I started, and we never bothered to check the adult model against me till this year.
There was only about an inch of difference overall
I’m thinking back to the last time I had it out, and I think you might be right about the length of pull.
Overall length may be the same, but I’d bet the length of pull of the stocks isn’t. Of course, comparing rifles of different manufacture, you never can tell!
Take your tape measure and check length from trigger to buttpad, though, and I bet there’ll be an inch or so’s difference.
