I want to work with youths affected by violent crime or gang culture- what do I need to know?
I’m 22, just finished Uni in Exeter and want to be a youth worker (dealing with the Bristol area ideally) but have no qualifications in this field. What do I need to do to get the ball rolling and what sort of thing is available? Will my being young be a problem?

Firstly, go out and get some life experience! Get plenty of experience working with Young People through voluntary agencies etc. Being young is not a problem but a lack of experience could well be. You are looking at a very difficult and sensitive social group and area…
