It’s time for Benton Fighting Panther football!
Tonight at 7:00, the 2025 Salt Bowl will take place at the Palace as the Benton Panthers host their Saline County neighbor, the Bryant Hornets. Tonight’s game marks the first matchup between the teams at a home stadium since a State Playoff matchup in 2005, won by the Panthers 35-28. Since then, every game has been played at War Memorial Stadium with Bryant maintaining a two decade dominance, winning each game except for a 14-14 tie in 2014.
Tonight will be the 53rd all-time game played between the Panthers and Hornets with Bryant holding a 26-24-2 advantage, including last year’s 52-42 victory.
Benton has won back-to-back Class 6-A East conference championships and advanced to the Class 6-A State Semifinals each of the past two seasons. Bryant is the defending Class 7-A State Champions (the Hornets have won seven of the past eight state championships).
The gates on the home side of the stadium open today at 4:00 p.m. to allow fans to visit the many vendor booths set up behind the home side bleachers. A special Salt Bowl Gameday pregame show will begin at 5:00 p.m. and be streamed live on the Salt Bowl Facebook page.
All tickets are $15 and have been presold. There will be no ticket sales at the stadium.
A pay-per-view broadcast of the game is available at this link https://watch.castr.io/jdNIyKZzFLkhE5ppuq5I/stream/w37NKMp5lyKh2qWSSHiL. This special edition broadcast is presented by Everett Buick GMC, First Security Bank, Jones Heating & Air, and Westside Pharmacy.
