The Benton Panthers broke a 14-14 halftime tie with the Marion Patriots on the opening drive of the second half on a nine-play, 66-yard drive. Senior quarterback Drew Davis scored on a three-yard run and Gabe Wilbur kicked the PAT to give Benton a 21-14 lead with 9:35 remaining in the third quarter. Friday night, the Benton Panthers took care of business by dispatching the West Memphis Blue Devils 49-19 at Hamilton-Schultz Field. If there’s a silver lining to the loss Benton suffered to Sylvan Hills in week five, it’s that it set the stage for history to happen at the Palace on Friday night.
